80kms away from Sharm el-Sheikh to the North, Dahab is a famous travel city with wild landscape, gigantic mountains, but above all, the blue beaches that cannot be compared to any others, and are suitable for people who love diving.

A new day in Dahab starts at 7 a.m, when tourists and divers jump on jeeps along with their luggage to travel to proper destinations for diving.

After short introductions, the tourguide along with his team of tourists jump off to the sea and stay down there for less than 50 minutes, to avoid the shortage of oxygen. All the tourists who arrive at Dahab dive to enjoy the feeling of adventurousness, or for the love for this popular sport.

Islam Ali Radwane, a diving tourguide in Dahab, revealed that tourists come from everywhere in the world, because this is one of the greatest places for taking part in this extreme but wonderful sport. "Once you're underwater, you can find caves, and even great coral reefs that you have never seen before in any country. Moreover, this is one of the safest and most peaceful, because there are no sharks".

But these days this paradise is being forgotten. The Dahab residents are suffering from problems that can affect badly to the city's tourism in long term. The major problem today which is having an impact on local people and tourists is the lack of vehicles in the city which receives about 400.000 tourists. Each day there is only one to two buses to Dahab, yet they're not convenient, and not suitable for transporting tourists.

Another problem that the residents here are suffering is the garbage. Moustapha Ismail, a member of Red Sea Diving Association revealed that the cafes and casinos in the coast of Dahab are disposing a lot of trash to the sea. Tourists don't understand why Egyptians are disposing that much garbage into the sea, causing destruction to a major part of coral reefs. Dahab is under the threat of losing the attraction to the tourists.

Ihab Tomounm, Head of the Sea Diving Development Association of Sud-Sinai said that his association is working with their every effort to collect the garbage on the beaches and the streets for free. "But only us is not enough. We need helping hands too". The government needs to care more about Dahab as we did with Sharm el-Sheikh", he said.
